The trick about home office’s is you have the freedom to do whatever.you.want. No other “coworkers” input necessary. You can make it however “homey” or “professional” you want!
Home Office tips from the Pro’s
- Always have some type of shelving. We love diagonal shelves, flanking cabinets, floating shelves. ALL the storage
- Simples lines on the desk. Don’t try to overcomplicate the desk. It is the center, but so not the center all at the same time.
- Mix and match chairs. Make the desk chair something unique and pair it with guest chairs that are fun!
Lighting – AMPLE amounts of lighting are key. From a mixture of overhead lighting, to table and floor lamps, and don’t forget the biggest light of all…. the WINDOWS!
Many times people don’t know what to do on the walls of an office. Does it need to be professional related? School related? The answer is no. You can have a statement art piece, or a purposeful memorabilia as long as it takes up the adequate amount of space!
Be different — Think sideways. Literally! We did in this home office and it paid off big time!
